Week Eight - Professional Development
For decades professional development has been ineffective. Find out how to plan for and integrate effective professional development that makes a real difference!
Traditionally professional development has been, and continues mainly to be, ineffective. We know now that teachers require deeper learning experiences (and we do not mean 15 minute sit-and-get or activities at a conference). One hour after-school sessions are also not effective.
There are schools which have built in a variety of structures for providing meaningful professional development and the TIME needed.
This week you will be introduced to, and discuss, new options for providing the educators in your district or on your campus with excellence in professional development.
